GreaterGood.org Partners with Boehringer Ingelheim to Provide Medical Attention to Pets Rescued from Houston Floods

Nonprofit Organizations Provide Cash Grants, Vaccines and Medicine

TUCSON, Ariz.--()--GreaterGood.org, an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization devoted to improving the health and well-being of people, pets, and the planet has teamed up with the Animal Health Business of Boehringer Ingelheim to assist with animals affected by Hurricane Harvey.

In partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim, GreaterGood.org awarded $105,000 worth of critical supplies to the Houston SPCA and Austin Pets Alive, both of which are acting as distribution hubs for other smaller organizations in need. Grant money will be provided in the form of products to assist the animals and their shelters, including vaccines, heartworm preventative, flea & tick preventative, pain meds, rabies vaccines, and dental chews. Pets that will benefit from the grant were saved from the flood waters and were not in a shelter prior to the hurricane.

“When the unthinkable happens, we are extremely grateful to corporations like Boehringer Ingelheim, who join us in offering aid to those desperately in need," said Liz Baker, Executive Director of GreaterGood.org.

In addition to these efforts, GreaterGood.org and Boehringer Ingelheim are preparing to respond to Hurricane Irma to provide more support for pets and the people who care for them in times of need.

Prior to this latest project, GreaterGood.org and Boehringer Ingelheim have partnered since 2015 on a vaccine program, “A Shot at Life,” which awards organizations monthly vaccine grants upon completion of veterinary webinars.
