ZEISS Selects ModusLink® to Deploy Order Management and Fulfillment Solutions

Leveraging ModusLink® systems and technology, ZEISS Consumer Products Division to Implement Fully Integrated and Seamless Order Management and Payment Processes to Enable Global Expansion

WALTHAM, Mass.--()--ModusLink Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of ModusLink Global Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: MLNK), a global, omni-channel technology and fulfillment provider, announced today that ZEISS Consumer Products Division (COP), an internationally leading technology enterprise, operating in the optics and optoelectronics industries, selected ModusLink to implement a seamless buying and return experience, resulting in enhanced customer and partner relations. ZEISS COP will utilize ModusLink’s e-Commerce and financial management services to optimize its order management, fulfillment, returns and payment processes.

In 2006, ZEISS COP opened its online store, but as e-Commerce gains popularity and digital storefronts become a growing priority, ZEISS COP decided it’s time to give its digital offering a facelift. These efforts require a partner that could create a seamless interface between the online shop’s back-end system and the antiquated order management and payment systems. ZEISS COP selected ModusLink to implement its world-class e-Commerce and financial management services, combining robust financial management with fully integrated e-commerce and supply chain processes for an optimized approach to channel expansion.

ModusLink’s comprehensive end-to-end solution is fully integrated with global payment, CRM and fulfillment systems, allowing ZEISS COP to quickly and easily expand into new regions and countries. ModusLink's international footprint and ability to seamlessly manage international currency conversions and localize shipping allows ZEISS COP to expand geographically while simultaneously scaling its online sales channel. Additionally, ModusLink provides comprehensive risk management and fraud protection along with customized monitoring and full compliance capabilities.

"As the Internet continues to upend the traditional supply chain, companies need help navigating this seismic shift in how they must operate as they move increasingly to a direct-to-consumer model," said Michel Da Silva, General Manager eBusiness at ModusLink. "We have teamed up with ZEISS COP to help bolster its online and international presence in a quick, efficient manner. We’ve done this by establishing a robust and agile e-Commerce solution that represents the first point of engagement in the supply chain."

"With our digital presence becoming a growing force for the company's ongoing success, it was crucial for ZEISS COP to create a seamless customer experience by optimizing order management and payment processes," said Heiko Bittner, Project Coordinator Digital Sales at ZEISS. "We ultimately selected ModusLink for its ability to offer streamlined back end functionality to ensure a positive experience for customers. Additionally, ModusLink delivers the peace-of-mind that the risks of doing business online and across borders have been mitigated and that consistency and control is maintained as we continue to expand."
