TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tampa’s new addiction treatment center, Riverside Recovery of Tampa, began accepting patients last week. Opening with 66 beds, including 15 for detox, the center will expand to 120 beds after completing extensive renovations on the 60,000 square-foot building.
“Our multi-disciplinary, evidence-based programs help patients understand their addictions and the underlying, co-occurring issues that contribute to them,” said CEO Scott Kelley. “Through a combination of evidence-based therapies, people gain the skills they need to recover.”
Rooted in 12-step philosophy, Riverside Recovery provides a full continuum of care, including a 30-day residential program that delivers group, individual and family therapy in a highly structured environment. Patients undergoing detoxification are medically monitored 24/7 and see a licensed medical professional at least once a day.
“We have an incredible team,” Kelley said. “Our medical director and nurse practitioner are board certified in emergency care and our staff really understands what patients go through. In fact, about 80 percent are in recovery themselves.”
A rigorous outpatient program supports patients as they integrate recovery skills into their work environments and personal lives. This includes setting patients up with long-term, community-based programs, including NA, AA, SMART Recovery, and Celebrate Recovery.
Riverside Recovery’s spa-like setting overlooking the Hillsborough River is designed to foster communication and collaboration skills. The center features kayaking, fishing, basketball, weights and elliptical machines, volleyball court, meditation garden, and a community fire pit and barbecue area, along with a recreational therapist on staff. A swimming pool and dock on the river are scheduled for completion in September.
“Having every level of care under one allows us to meet patients where they are and provide the individualized treatment needed to work toward long-term recovery,” said Vice President Kirk Kirkpatrick.
Riverside Recovery of Tampa is located 4004 Riverside Drive in Tampa and can be reached via www.rrtampa.com or 800-871-5440. An admissions counselor is available 24/7.
