NextGen Crowdfunding Announces Total Investor Commitments In Title III Offerings Surpasses $50 Million

LOS ANGELES--()--NextGen Crowdfunding®, the leading company that helps people explore new types of crowdfunding, announces that total investor commitments in Title III equity crowdfunding campaigns have surpassed $50 million.

NextGen’s Crowdfunding Industry Dashboard includes data on the progress of all 342 of the “Regulation Crowdfunding” offerings to date.* According to the data, the average amount raised by Title III campaigns that have ended and met their funding goals has been about $300,000.

“This is a noteworthy milestone for the investment crowdfunding industry that is still in its infancy,” said Aubrey Chernick, CEO of NextGen Crowdfunding. “The data we’re looking at seems to suggest that both entrepreneurs and investors are becoming increasingly comfortable with equity crowdfunding as a fundraising strategy.”

The Title III regulations, which were enacted by the SEC in May 2016, allow anyone to invest in startups online through crowdfunding. Before the new regulations, only wealthy investors who met certain high income requirements could invest in early-stage companies. Under these new rules, companies are able to raise up to $1 million from both new and accredited investors.

NextGen is widely recognized as a leading resource for equity crowdfunding data and statistics. The company also hosts popular live events and online streaming content to help people and companies understand and participate in the growing investment crowdfunding industry.

*Data is as of July 31, 2017.
