Haltom City, TX Taps FATHOM to Enhance Customer Service and Water Utility Operations

A local FATHOM customer service center will create jobs in the region and provide face-to-face support

AUSTIN, Texas--()--FATHOMTM Water Management, Inc. (“FATHOM”), the utility-to-utility Smart Grid for Water technology leader, today announced a new partnership with the City of Haltom City, Texas. Haltom City, the fifth municipality in Texas to adopt FATHOM’s water management platform, will implement FATHOM’s complete suite of software and managed services solutions to recover lost revenue and improve customer experiences. FATHOM will also open a local customer service center in Haltom City to provide residents with a physical location where they can pay bills and manage their accounts.

“Haltom City is proud to serve as a role model for smart, responsible water use,” said Rex Phelps, assistant city manager of Haltom. “FATHOM’s software solutions will allow us to operate with greater efficiency, bill customers more accurately and deliver unparalleled customer support. The FATHOM partnership provides multiple benefits for both Haltom City and its residents, and we are thrilled to join this network.”

Haltom City has chosen to implement FATHOM’s Customer Information System (CIS) and its accompanying U2You customer portal. With these tools at their fingertips, residents can engage with their water use like never before. Once logged into the FATHOM U2You platform on a computer, smartphone or tablet, homeowners can pay their bills, see their real-time water use and set personalized alerts for both usage and estimated monthly billing. The FATHOM system will also alert residents to any events of unexpected high water use such as a leaking pipe or faulty sprinkler system. Paired with the local customer service center, the immediate alerts and visibility tools that FATHOM provides will drive water efficiency and customer satisfaction throughout the Haltom City community.

With FATHOM, Haltom City will save more than $300,000 annually, through reduced water loss, bad debt, and operational expenses while offering a more reliable and automated metering infrastructure. Haltom City will also replace nearly 10,000 water meters and retrofit another 3,000 with the new smart meters.

“Communities across the United States are struggling with high—and continually rising—wholesale water prices,” said Trevor Hill, CEO of FATHOM. “Our mission at FATHOM is to reduce the burden that water scarcity places on both utilities and their residents by providing actionable data insights to drive efficiency at both the environmental and financial levels. We’re excited for Haltom City to become both a local and national water champion.”
