ORLANDO, Fla.--()--Job hunters across Central and North Florida will soon have new opportunities available thanks to Sprint (NYSE: S). Claudio Hidalgo, Sprint’s region president for Florida, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands, announced more than 300 jobs will be added in Orlando, Tampa-St. Petersburg, Jacksonville and Gainesville as a part of Sprint’s national retail expansion strategy.

“This is the fastest Sprint has grown across Florida in many years,” said Hidalgo. “We see a lot of continued opportunity for expansion across the state. And, our growth over the last year has already been well-received by customers, so we’re excited to continue to drive this momentum.”

The available jobs will include a combination of retail, business sales, marketing and operations. Most roles will staff the 18 stores Sprint plans to open in the Orlando metro area, 15 new stores in Tampa-St. Petersburg, and 3 stores in Jacksonville and Gainesville this year. Residents interested in applying for open positions should visit www.sprint.com/jobs.

The retail expansion includes the hiring of teams for Sprint’s recently launched Sprint Express, a new retail channel consisting of temporary pop-up stores in Orlando, Miami and Tampa. The new stores have helped the company quickly expand its distribution presence at venues that serve consumers where they already are such as grocery stores, concerts, and special events.

In June, Sprint was recognized as a Best Place to Work by the Orlando Business Journal. Sprint announced 250 new jobs and additional retail store locations in South Florida in May.
