Vizient, Inc. Opposed to Senate’s Better Care Reconciliation Act, Urges Congress to Improve Coverage before Final Vote

IRVING, Texas--()--Vizient, Inc. is firmly opposed, along with other hospital and industry stakeholders, to the U.S. Senate’s draft of the Better Care Reconciliation Act. We believe this legislation would have significant, negative impacts on individuals’ ability to maintain their health insurance coverage.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that 22 million fewer Americans will have insurance coverage under the Senate bill. Coupled with the end of the Medicaid expansion, this legislation would not only negatively impact patients, but it will also put an increasing strain on hospitals and providers throughout the country.

Vizient urges Congress to work with patients, providers, payors, and other stakeholders to improve the state of insurance access and affordability in America before finalizing any legislation.

Vizient is the nation’s largest health care performance improvement company serving a diverse membership that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health care delivery networks and non-acute health care providers.
