MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation (BBCF), a non-profit organization principally focused on supporting the post-secondary educational goals of residents who live in communities owned and managed by Balfour Beatty Communities, hosted its tenth annual “Swing 4 Scholarships” golf tournament to raise funds in support of its BBCF Scholarship Program. More than 100 golfers participated in the May 24th tournament at Burnt Pine Golf Club, located in Miramar Beach and known as the “Crown Jewel of Florida Golf.”
Tournament proceeds support Foundation efforts, including the BBCF Scholarship Program, which awards post-secondary scholarships annually to residents living at Balfour Beatty Communities-owned and managed properties, including those in the company’s military, student and conventional housing portfolios. Scholarship recipients are selected based on demonstrated academic achievement and financial need, as well as a commitment to community leadership and improvement. This year, the Foundation awarded 49 scholarships to residents in 18 states around the country.
“The exceptional generosity of our tournament sponsors and participants allows our Foundation to make an impact on the lives of so many aspiring students in Balfour Beatty Communities properties and for that we are truly grateful,” said Chris Williams, President of the Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation. “This year’s golf event was particularly meaningful as it marked our tenth annual ‘Swing 4 Scholarships’ tournament which has, since its inception, provided scholarships to hundreds of deserving students to pursue their dreams of a college education or training in the trades.”
