Compellon Appoints Carv Moore as Chief Executive Officer

Software and Services Veteran to Lead Company’s Day-to-Day Operations; Co-Founder Ken Charhut to Assume Executive Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer Roles

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif.--()--Compellon™, developer of breakthrough prescriptive analytics software that delivers immediately-actionable intelligence, today announced the appointment of Carv Moore as chief executive officer. Moore succeeds co-founder and former CEO Ken Charhut, who will serve as executive chairman of the Board of Directors and chief strategy officer of the company.

Moore joins Compellon after many years serving as president and chief operating officer or as a senior executive at leading software and technology services companies, from start-ups to Fortune 500 enterprises. He has a long and diverse track record of leading and consulting with technology companies, building growth and managing turnaround situations that have led to successful exits, mergers and acquisitions.

Previously, Moore served as senior vice president of worldwide sales, operations, channels and systems engineering for BMC Software Enterprise Systems, where he was part of the leadership team that led the company’s successful reorganization from public to private ownership. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of global software for Sun Microsystems (acquired by Oracle), where he led the software business across 164 countries. Moore also served as president of the Americas for Novell, president of the Americas for Cambridge Technology Partners (acquired by Novell), and as president and COO of Excell Data Corporation (acquired by Cambridge Technology Partners).

Moore currently serves as board member and strategic advisor to several other software and services companies where he has assisted founders from an early stage, and in some cases, all the way through exit, including Orbitera (acquired by Google), Think Big Analytics (acquired by Teradata), Mobiquity and River Meadow Software.

He has a tremendous track record of success building and growing innovative software companies to successful exits,” said Charhut. “Carv is a proven leader who has the skills necessary to scale the company and its unique collaborative artificial intelligence technology, solutions and services to give our customers what they want.”
