PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) recently awarded Newton County School System, Georgia, a 2017 Tyler Public Sector Excellence Award for the Versatrans® solution at its annual national user conference, Connect, held last month in San Antonio, Texas.
Tyler’s Excellence Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate excellence in deploying Tyler software in novel and impactful ways that extend best practices. Award submissions, accepted from October 18, 2016, through February 1, 2017, were evaluated by a panel of Tyler leadership and judged on business value, maturity, innovation and relevance to other public sector organizations. Additional criteria met by award winners included:
- Creating a unique process using a Tyler application or service that can educate other organizations
- Realizing significant savings after implementing a Tyler solution
- Increasing staff productivity by implementing a Tyler application or service
- Empowering employees, citizens or vendors
To gain better insight into their student transportation operation and accountability, long-time Versatrans client Newton County School System added Tyler Telematic GPS™ hardware to their vehicles, allowing them to manage vehicle location, engine diagnostic codes and driver behavior with live data. They went on to implement the complete Versatrans suite, including the Versatrans My Stop™ mobile app, which allows students to see live updates of when their bus will arrive at their stop each day. This increased functionality has improved the district’s ability to oversee every aspect of their transportation program, find efficiencies and focus on the safety of their students.
Tyler Excellence Award winners were honored May 7 in San Antonio, Texas, where they were presented with the award and given the opportunity to share their best practices and lessons learned with their public sector peers.
