SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Moving Families Initiative®, an international plan focusing on serving, protecting and meeting the needs of parents relocating with children ages 19 and under, has announced the first-ever National Get Involved With an Extracurricular Activity Organization Day, taking place June 20.
The day was created to enhance awareness, education and connectivity for extracurricular activity organizations nationwide. These organizations provide programs to build character and enhance life skills and values for children. One of the goals of the Moving Families Initiative is to assist parents moving or relocating, making the move less stressful for their entire family. Specifically, Moving Families Initiative focuses on assisting children with the physical and emotional challenges of changing neighborhoods, schools and friends. Moving Families Initiative is facilitated by World Class Coaches.

In October, Moving Families Initiative joined forces with HSF Affiliates and through its Home Connections℠ real estate services platform, which offers parents a one-stop access point for the plan’s legion of service providers, programs and services.

As part of the nationwide celebration, Moving Families Initiative encouraged parents to work with children and get them involved. Additionally, Moving Families Initiative recommended that parents join an extracurricular activity of their choice for the day by volunteering their time, connecting someone they know to the organization or making a small donation to the organization of their choice. The suggestions are also directed at teachers, coaches, school counselors and extended family members. “For the kids, we’re not concerned about which activity is chosen as long as they get involved and have fun,” Johnson said. “It could be Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, playing in the band, singing, dancing, youth sports – you name it.”
After its inaugural recognition, National Get Involved With an Extracurricular Activity Organization Day will be celebrated during the entire month of June each year.
