TREVOSE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In a study conducted earlier this year, International SOS found that many organizations are not protecting themselves from top global health threats1. A recent poll of 61 multinational companies found that 94%1 viewed Zika or other health threats as a potential or definitive risk to their workforce.
In response, International SOS has developed the Enterprise Health Security Center, a new technology platform designed to provide global surveillance and tactical information, on demand, for rapid response to outbreaks and global threats.
Earlier this month, the Enterprise Health Security Center (EHSC) won an Expatriate Management and Mobility Award (EMMA), and was named the Most Innovative use of Technology by the Forum for Expatriate Management. Adopted by clients from the Fortune 100 to small and mid-sized organizations, the EHSC addresses the evolving global health threat landscape and business continuity challenges enterprises face every day. Recent Ebola, Norovirus, Malaria and Measles outbreaks demonstrate just how important it is for companies to have a reliable, reputable resource to protect their people and maintain business operations.
“The Enterprise Health Security Center was created to address our client’s challenges. We worked with business leaders to develop the concept and continually innovate the program,” notes Dr. Myles Druckman, Senior Vice President and Regional Medical Director for International SOS. “By leveraging our in-house global medical team to maintain the health content, it allows our clients to save time and resources when they need to manage an evolving crisis.”
Platform users have access to content response plans for over 25 threats including topics such as Chicken Pox, Measles, Ebola, Pandemic Flu, Malaria, Dengue Fever and Zika, as well as environmental threats like Air Pollution and Legionnaires Disease. Content response plans include:
- Instant access to documents to manage health incidents in the workplace
- Tactical checklists so a layperson manager can step-by-step manage an incident
- Surveillance capability for global threats in proximity to client operations, and activity/impact reporting
"Corning has been leading innovations in material science, collaborating with customers on technology challenges to reshape solutions that transform lives. The launch of International SOS’ Enterprise Health Security Center (EHSC) echoes the same values of leadership, innovation and quality we believe in, transforming the way enterprises manage global health threats and implement pandemic preparedness,” adds Dr. James Schuppert, Director of Health Services at Corning. “As partners for many years, Corning congratulates International SOS for the recognition of this pioneering solution."
