PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Connectify Inc., a software company developing apps that allow users to do more with their Internet connections, today released the Speedify software development kit (SDK). The Speedify SDK will help network operators and hardware manufacturers make use of the Speedify engine to seamlessly switch between Internet connections providing increased QoE while reducing LTE usage.
The launch of the Speedify SDK comes as a natural evolution, after many discussions with network operators, media outlets, hardware manufacturers, and even sports teams.
The Speedify SDK can be built into existing iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS software and runs in the background improving network performance for all the apps on the device. The Speedify SDK is cost aware and uses policy based routing that can be configured for increased speed or reduced cellular usage. Optional VPN encryption means that Speedify can also keep users secure across public Wi-Fi networks.
“To maximize available bandwidth and minimize costs to MVNOs, Wi-Fi should be used instead of cellular whenever it provides a good experience,” said Connectify’s, CEO, Alex Gizis.
“Without the Speedify SDK, this has been an intractable problem; when a user's phone joins a ‘dead hotspot’ devices do not quickly fallback to LTE, but instead, strand the user with no Internet, so people stop joining public Wi-Fi network after a few bad experiences.”
