PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Glenmede, a privately held and independently owned investment and wealth management firm with $34 billion in assets under management, today announced the appointment of Jordan Savitch as Managing Director, General Counsel and Director of Business Assurance. In this role, he will oversee the Company’s legal, compliance, internal audit and enterprise risk management operations and serve as a member of the Company’s Management Committee. Mr. Savitch will report to Gordon B. Fowler, President and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer.

With more than two decades of legal experience, Mr. Savitch joins Glenmede from Penn National Gaming, Inc. (NASDAQ: PENN), where he served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. At Penn National, Mr. Savitch oversaw the legal, regulatory and compliance functions for a highly-regulated, publicly traded company that grew to operate 29 facilities with over 18,000 employees in 19 different jurisdictions. Before that, he held roles for an early stage technology company and for Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFE). Mr. Savitch began his career as a corporate associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
Mr. Savitch received a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Vermont, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Among his philanthropic interests, Mr. Savitch volunteers his time to speak, to teach and to advise on entrepreneurship, law, compliance and governance. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Rutgers Center for Law and Corporate Governance and as a mentor for Mentor Connect, a program jointly sponsored by Ben Franklin Technology Partners and the Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies to provide guidance and support for local, early stage enterprises. He recently served as a regional and national judge for LawMeets®, a nationally recognized negotiation competition for law students and, prior to that, completed a year-long appointment as Adjunct Professor and Advisor to the John F. Scarpa Law and Entrepreneurship Center at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.
