CORAL GABLES, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust, President and CEO, Angel Medina, participated as a guest speaker at the recent Real Estate Roundtable along with local leaders, developers and regulators. This year's event, hosted by Holland & Knight, provided insight into the community's urban infill and urban development boundary (UDB) challenges, addressed changes in the regulatory climate for real estate and banking, and a look at what's ahead.
As a guest panelist, Medina shared his 35 years’ experience in banking and real estate during a panel discussion centered on an overview of President Trump’s first 100 days and the current real estate business environment in South Florida.
“Financial services companies are optimistic that regulatory reform will be viewed in a balanced approach that both protects consumers and is not a financial drain on banks who could deploy these funds into resources such as hiring more financial service professionals who could provide more lending and financial advice to their clients,” stated Angel Medina during the roundtable. “Investing in infrastructure is expected to create jobs, stimulate the economy and improve our roads, bridges and ports, which will improve the flow of commerce domestically and internationally through import and export. Investment in infrastructure is critical to the economic growth and vitality of our country.”
The roundtable entitled ‘Doing Business in the Current Economic Climate' took place at the Holland & Knight Miami office on May 11, 2017. The open discussions were led by governmental leaders that included: Lieutenant Governor of Florida, Carlos Lopez-Cantera; Mayor of Miami-Dade County, Carlos Giménez; Miami-Dade County, District 13 Commissioner, Esteban Bovo and other business officials such as Scott Mason, Senior Policy Advisor for Holland & Knight, John Guitar, Senior Vice President, All Aboard Florida and many others.
