BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--()--Aegis Health Group, a tech-enabled services company with three decades of experience delivering profitable market share growth for hospitals by increasing physician loyalty, targeting commercially insured employers and developing relationships with consumers, is pleased to announce the return of former executive, Craig Smith, as Chief Revenue Officer.

In his new role, Smith will provide in-market strategy support and execution for both new and existing hospital clients.

“Craig has a wealth of experience in implementing revenue growth strategies for hospitals, and he delivered several of the accounts that we have today,” said Hal Andrews, Executive Chairman of Aegis. “The combination of Craig’s detailed knowledge of Aegis and his experiences from his time at The Advisory Board will be a tremendous asset to Aegis as we further our mission of making hospitals stronger.”

“While it’s a very different company than it was when I left, I am thrilled to be back with my former colleagues at Aegis, and to be a part of helping hospitals and health systems navigate a policy climate that seems to be driven more by dogma than it is by pragmatism,” said Craig Smith. “I believe that Aegis’ focus on providing hospitals a unique prescription for growth by engaging physicians, employers and consumers is needed more than ever in an uncertain and challenging reimbursement environment. Getting the right patients in front of the right clinicians at the right time for the right reasons is critical for hospitals and health systems. Doing that is also imperative for ensuring the financial sustainability of the communities in which they operate.”

Smith joined the Southwind Division of The Advisory Board Company as executive partner when he departed Aegis in 2010. In that role, he was responsible for business development for the firm’s physician practice management and consulting division. Smith most recently served as president of Applied Health Analytics. Over the last two decades, Smith has advised numerous health systems on physician alignment strategies, compensation modeling and redesign services, revenue cycle and technology solutions, clinical integration, ACO strategy development and population health management initiatives. Craig earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and economics at Brown University.
