AI2 joins Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, OpenAI and other organizations committed to safe, transparent, accountable development of AI

SEATTLE--()--The Allen Institute of Artificial Intelligence, AI2, announced today it has joined the Partnership on AI to benefit people and society. AI2, the largest non-profit AI organization in the world, contributes to humanity through high-impact AI research and engineering and will expand on its commitment to transparency and collaboration with the Partnership on AI and its partners.

AI2 is an award winning AI non-profit with over 70 employees working on cutting-edge AI research and projects in use today by academics, scientists, small businesses, and Fortune 500 companies. Of note, Semantic Scholar, an AI-based academic search engine, is redefining how scientific and medical research papers and journals are analyzed and how language, graphs, and citations are indexed for unprecedented search capabilities. AI2 also focuses on machine reading and reasoning, natural language understanding, and computer vision. In just over 3 years, AI2 has responsibly developed nearly a dozen AI technologies and applications.
