LYND - Honoring Our American Veterans with Housing & Services

SAN ANTONIO & NEW ORLEANS--()--There are true heroes living among us every day. These heroes forge into battle fearlessly carrying the weight of our freedom on their shoulders. They sacrifice their bodies and minds to protect our homes, democracy, and everything that we hold precious to our hearts. They serve America selflessly, and with extraordinary talent, they overcome the impossible. We celebrate our freedom every day because of the sacrifices of these men and women.

Our founder, Mr. Michael Lynd Sr., a Vietnam Infantry Veteran, supports the need to improve the lives of those who have served in the military, who are receiving earned Veteran benefits, but are now struggling with returning to civilian life. That is why LYND is honored to be the Real Estate Advisor and Property Management Company for Invest in America’s Veterans Foundation (IAVF), a non-profit organization.

“Our purpose is to find, advise, provide capital, and support IAVF through the entire Real Estate transaction, transactions that will provide housing and services to Veterans. We will also manage the assets for the foundation, and offer support when needed. Our partnership with IAVF has been a huge success thus far with the purchase of a $19.2 Million Apartment Project 'The Cove at NOLA.' Our plan adds another 3,000 to 5,000 apartment units throughout the United States. IAVF has contracted $180 Million of additional assets that we expect to close in Q3 of 2017. These properties are located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Illinois. Once added to the program, IAVF will provide social services that are designed to support Veterans. LYND is proud to support our American Heroes,” said Adam David Lynd, CEO of LYND Opportunity Partners / Senior Vice President of LYND who administers the program.

The Cove at NOLA, located in New Orleans, is the first apartment community purchased by IAVF with the support of LYND. This beautiful community will offer Veteran services such as job placement, DD-214 retrieval, education benefits, food assistance, suicide prevention, counseling, housing assistance for homeless Veterans, transportation to the VA Hospital, and a dedicated Veteran Service Officer that will be assigned to the community to support the needs of the foundation participants.

Ralph A. Santillo, an Army Veteran, who founded IAVF in 2009, said, “Without LYND and the generosity of their family our organization would not exist. We are truly grateful for their help. Our mission is to provide American Veterans with a head-start in getting back into the mainstream of American life. What is so unique about this particular property is that the Cove at NOLA will provide a Veteran Center. Once this center has been expanded, it will offer an atmosphere where Veterans feel comfortable. Where Veterans from any military branch and of any age can meet and speak with other Veterans, and engage in conversations that only they can understand. This center will also serve as a place for families to come together, socialize, and support each another. There are no limitations to where our foundation and partnership with LYND can go. Together, we will work to support our Veterans.”

LYND is actively searching for multi-family properties with willing sellers to help build this program. We have the capability of working with multiple partners who are interested in this program. The acquisition criteria requires the asset to have been built during 1970 to 1990. The geographic location is unrestricted. The property must be a minimum of 250 units and cannot exceed 2,000 units.
