EUREKA, Mo.--()--Six Flags St. Louis, today announced an all-new Mardi Gras Festival and Parade debuting June 2017. The park will host the New Orleans style celebration complete with ornate parade floats, Mardi Gras-themed décor, festive street entertainment and classic Cajun cuisine.

The Mardi Gras Festival and Parade features eight authentic floats designed by the world-renowned Kern Studios, a family of 4th generation craftsmen who have been building New Orleans Mardi Gras floats for 85 years. The intricately designed 16-foot tall floats will feature a variety of themes including the Mardi Gras King and Queen, the seasonal festival—Dia de los Muertos, and other celebrations from around the world, like Rio’s Carnival. As the high-energy parade makes its way through the park each day, thousands of dazzling purple, gold, green and red beads will be tossed from each float to the waving crowds while stilt walkers and street performers add to the revelry of bringing the spirit of The Big Easy to the streets of Six Flags St. Louis.

Guests will enjoy New Orleans-inspired music throughout the day featuring the Musical Gumbo stage show, a drumline, and jazz band performances, all while savoring the taste of delicious Cajun cuisine, including jambalaya, King Cakes and beignets. Adult beverages like New Orleans Hurricanes and Southern Comfort Sweet Tea are also on the menu. Festive New Orleans-inspired merchandise including jester-style hats, Mardi Gras t-shirts and novelty beads will be available for purchase during the festival.

The Mardi Gras Festival and Parade will take place each Wednesday–Sunday, June 21–July 16 and is included with theme park admission. 2017 Six Flags Season Passholders can enjoy Mardi Gras, Virtual Reality on Ninja, the all-new Spinsanity mega-disc thrill ride, Hurricane Harbor water park, Fright Fest, and Holiday in the Park.
