Luxury Hunting and Fly Fishing Lodge to Launch English-Style Driven Bird Hunts and Expanded Culinary Experience Including New Dining Facilities, “Pasture to Plate” Program

SARATOGA, Wyo.--()--French Creek Sportsman’s Club, Wyoming’s supremely private sporting paradise that opened last year as part of the Brush Creek Luxury Ranch Collection, announced today that it will open for the 2017 summer season on May 17. Located on the legendary Sanger Ranch property, famous among the nation’s premier hunting and fishing grounds, French Creek Sportsman’s Club will kick off its second year in operation with the launch of English-style driven bird hunts as well as an expanded culinary experience including new dining facilities and a new “pasture to plate” culinary program, featuring ranch-raised Akaushi beef and fruits and vegetables harvested from an on-Ranch greenhouse.

Located on 15,000 acres nestled between the million-acre Medicine Bow National Forest and Sierra Madre mountain ranges, French Creek Sportsman’s Club is a Beretta Trident and ORVIS Dual-Endorsed Fly Fishing and Wing Shooting Lodge that offers exclusive access to the Ranch’s North Platte River Valley private waters and remote Wyoming wilderness. Private, attentive staff create personalized itineraries such as wade and float fly fishing on 20 miles of privately owned and managed wild rivers; hunting adventures such as upland bird hunts, European-style driven shoots, waterfowl hunting and big game hunts; and private daily use of the French Creek Sportsman’s Club shooting range including five-stand, pistol/rifle range and a 10 station walking sporting clays course. Formerly an historic homestead, French Creek Sportsman’s Club offers four private, luxury cabins for individual guests or for exclusive groups of up to 12 persons as well as a private clubhouse with spacious great room, fireplace, billiards, poker, bar and dining room; creek-side spa tent; and a campfire patio.

Based on the Scottish and English traditions of driven upland bird hunts, French Creek Sportsman’s Club will now offer fast-paced and challenging driven shoots. Each hunter is paired with a loader and is strategically placed to get plenty of shooting. Hunters will be cycled through different pegs to get shots of varying difficulty. Hunters can expect mostly pheasants, with an occasional Hungarian partridge and chukar.

The culinary experience at French Creek Sportsman’s Club reflects the adventurous spirit and ruggedness of its guests with hearty meals featuring wild game, local meats and produce prepared in innovative ways. Dining takes place in several venues, including the new Covey Dining Cabin featuring an open concept Chef’s kitchen, where artfully prepared daily menus are complemented by a selection of fine wines, premium beers and spirits, sourced from local breweries and distilleries. Outdoors, the Clubhouse provides a dining and entertainment patio with a firepit and breathtaking views of French Creek.

The French Creek Sportsman’s Club menu features Ranch-raised Akaushi beef, which has a rich, buttery flavor as well as juiciness and tenderness throughout. Examples of dishes featuring the Akaushi beef include a Grilled Half Pound Akaushi Wagyu Burger with choice of toppings; and an Akaushi New York Strip Steak with smashed potatoes, grilled mushrooms, caramelized shallot and red wine jus. The menu also features fruits and vegetables harvested from the new on-Ranch, greenhouse which has a total growing volume of 19,440 square feet and will produce 106 different items. One signature dish highlighting greenhouse harvest ingredients is the Pan Seared Pheasant with Yukon Gold potato puree and seasonal Ranch vegetables with wild arugula and gremolata.

Pricing for French Creek Sportsman’s Club starts at $1,000 per person, per night and is inclusive of luxury lodging accommodations; gourmet chef-prepared cuisine; premium beers, wines and spirits; and a range of daily experiences. Excludes spa treatments and elite a la carte experiences. A 23 percent Ranch Fee (Inclusive of all gratuities and applicable taxes) will also apply.
