Fordham University School of Law to Host Fourth Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Leadership Course

--()--The Leitner Center for International Law and Justice at Fordham University School of Law will host its fourth annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Leadership Course on May 4-5, 2017 on the law school’s midtown Manhattan campus. More than 20 industry leaders from across the private sector, civil society, government, and academia join this year’s program, including speakers from Yahoo, AT&T, Clifford Chance, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, IBM, Morgan Stanley, Pfizer, PVH, Ropes & Gray, SHIFT, and the UN Global Compact.

The annual two-day training program explores recent developments in the rapidly expanding fields of sustainability and CSR. Developed for lawyers, business professionals, CSR practitioners and service providers, civil society, and graduate students from all industry backgrounds, the program provides participants with a robust understanding of the law surrounding CSR, and a range of strategies, frameworks, and best practices for navigating this challenging terrain. The program will also cover specific tools that participants can use to guide their organizations to greater success, sustainability, and reputational equity.

A series of panel discussions, lectures and workshops will provide participants with an understanding of how business enterprises, including law firms, should be addressing their social and environmental impact, as well as learning the skills to develop effective corporate responsibility programs for themselves and their clients. Topics that will be covered at this year’s program include responsible investment; developments in US corporate law; sustainability reporting; business and environment; the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights; and the role of the private sector in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
