Easy Solutions Helps Foster a Safer Internet, Takes Swordphish Live

Predictive risk technology solution now available to general market

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--()--APWG eCrime 2017 Symposium on Electronic Crime Research – Easy Solutions, the Total Fraud Protection company, is continuing in its quest to partner for a safer Internet. To that end, Easy Solutions announced today that Swordphish, its predictive risk technology, is now generally available to enterprises, financial institutions, Internet Service Providers and others, looking to enhance malware and phishing detection and improve attack triage by leveraging the power of prediction to combat “alert fatigue.”

Swordphish is a web-based, RESTful API interface connected to a high-performance and scalable web infrastructure designed with a single purpose—to classify any URL as phishing, malware or benign in milliseconds. Swordphish is built upon an advanced, supervised machine-learning implementation leveraging random forests. This approach allows Swordphish to classify any well-formed URL with 95-percent accuracy.

“Easy Solutions is committed to working toward a safer cyber world and is an active collaborator in the areas of security research and innovation,” said Easy Solutions CEO Ricardo Villadiego. “Swordphish is the direct result of our investment in this arena. We are extremely pleased to now be able to offer this to the general market, and hope that social networks, search engines, short URL providers and Internet Service Providers will join us in working toward a better and safer online experience for everyone.”

During the Beta stage of the technology, large enterprises including Microsoft, Proofpoint, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Tyco, among others, tested Swordphish, complemented their existing usage of blacklists, and enjoyed the power of predictive tools. The predictive nature of Swordphish is designed to be completely forward-looking as opposed to proprietary or community-driven blacklists, which look backward.

To ensure that Swordphish is readily accessible to a wide range of organizations, Easy Solutions is offering Swordphish free of charge to service providers and non-profits. For security vendors and other entities looking to enhance their detection capabilities with advanced machine-learning (AI) classifiers, licensing agreements are available.

Swordphish allows organizations to:

  • predict the maliciousness of any URL or domain, unlike blacklist-based solutions, which look backward;
  • identify and measure risk posed by zero-day attack URLs and domains; and
  • scale from hundreds of queries to hundreds of thousands, scoring and prioritizing potential risk for thousands or even millions of URLs from various event sources.

Easy Solutions’ Chief Data Scientists will present their recent research titled “Phishing URLs Classification Using Recurrent Neural Networks” at the APWG eCrime 2017 Symposium on Electronic Crime Research on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 9:45 am.
