CHARLESTON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Resource Environmental Solutions (RES), the nation’s leading ecological and water resource solutions provider, today announced that Rheta Giddings DiNovo, former Director, Regulatory Division, OCRM at South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDEHC), joined the company as Regulatory Manager, where she leads all regulatory activities in South Carolina.
With 28 years at SCDEHC, Rheta has considerable experience with water and coastal programs. At SCDHEC’s Bureau, Rheta was involved with 401 certification/wetlands, water quality standards development and implementation, water quality modeling, 303(d) list development, TMDLs, domestic and industrial wastewater, recreational waters, state revolving fund, construction permitting, stormwater, and agricultural facilities. During her tenure with SCDHEC’s Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management, she oversaw review of all state and federal permit applications for activities within the South Carolina coastal zone for consistency with the State's Coastal Zone Management Program, review of permits for impacts in the direct permitting authority, and compliance and enforcement of these permits.

Rheta graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and the from University of South Carolina with a Masters of Public Health with an emphasis in Environmental Sciences - Water Quality. She is a native of Charleston.
