SPOKANE, Wash.--()--Ecova, a leading energy and sustainability management company, today announced it has received the 2017 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). For 13 consecutive years, Ecova has been honored by the EPA for continued leadership in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements. In 2016 alone, Ecova's energy efficiency programs delivered 21 TWh of energy savings in partnership with its utility clients. Over the past four years, Ecova identified savings of more than $2.7 billion for its facility clients.

“Unpredictable energy costs and growing consumer demand for Corporate Responsibility makes today’s investments in energy efficiency ever more vital to America’s success,” said Martin Sieh, Chief Operations Officer at Ecova. “ENERGY STAR programs deliver immense value to businesses and individual consumers. Ecova and ENERGY STAR share a common mission to help organizations save time and money while improving the environment. We take significant pride in being a multiple-time Partner of the Year and Sustained Excellence Award winner, and we will continue to support and promote ENERGY STAR to our ever-growing client base.”

Organizations nationwide increasingly recognize the need to measure their own energy performance and understand how they compare against their peers to set energy savings goals. ENERGY STAR tools and resources, including unbiased and understandable performance benchmarking, are an important part of Ecova’s energy management strategy that reaches over 800 clients at more than 715,000 sites in North America, including over 25 percent of all Fortune 500 companies.

As one of the largest contributors to the ENERGY STAR benchmark database, Ecova benchmarks energy performance for over 58,000 buildings in ENERGY STAR’s Portfolio Manager each month. Ecova provides the foundational data required to assess and optimize energy performance through proven analytics and data mining techniques. The automated process makes the ENERGY STAR rating more accessible, in particular, to multi-site enterprises such as Arby’s Restaurant Group, by assisting the company in meeting its energy management goals through greater visibility and consistency of information. Ecova’s programmatic approach to total energy and sustainability management has helped clients like Arby’s obtain consistent, ongoing savings toward long-term goals, including 20 percent savings by 2020.

Ecova, an ENERGY STAR participant since 2004, is a top ENERGY STAR certifier. In 2016, the company helped certify over 220 buildings and achieve recertification for over 300 buildings. Additionally, Ecova currently provides 24/7 support to over 17,000 buildings, including monitoring, processing, and managing over 30 million energy management system (EMS) client alarms, store calls and alerts each year.

The 2017 Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Awards are given to a variety of organizations to recognize their contributions in reducing carbon pollution through superior energy efficiency efforts. These awards recognize ongoing leadership across the ENERGY STAR program, including energy-efficient products, services, new homes, and buildings in the commercial, industrial, and public sectors.
