TREVOSE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Active Day, one of the largest providers of adult day health centers in the U.S., today announced an acquisition/divestiture transaction with ResCare, Inc., one of the largest diversified health and human services providers in the country. In the transaction, Active Day acquired a preeminent adult day health center in Fort Wayne, Indiana from ResCare while ResCare acquired four established home care branches in South Carolina from Active Day. The transaction is effective as of April 1st.
“We are excited about the opportunity we have ahead of us in Indiana and the ability to best align service divisions with our partner ResCare. Both organizations are respected leaders in their fields, and we believe with this transition the ongoing services to be provided in Indiana and South Carolina will thrive under their new leadership,” said Jim Donnelly, CEO for Active Day. “We were also able to seamlessly coordinate with ResCare to ensure a smooth transition so all members will continue to receive the highest level of care from the staff and caregivers they have come to know and who know them. We welcome our new members and employees to the Active Day family.”
The newly acquired center expands Active Day’s presence in Indiana to four adult day health centers and 84 adult day health centers nationally. The new center will be known as Active Day of Fort Wayne.
