DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Global Automotive Inductive Wireless Charging Systems Market 2017-2021" report to their offering.
The global automotive inductive wireless charging systems market to grow at a CAGR of 52.81% during the period 2017-2021.
The report covers the present scenario and growth prospects of the global automotive inductive wireless charging systems (WCS) market for 2017-2021. To calculate the market size, we considered the total global shipments of WCS by considering 2016 as the base year and have forecast the shipments for 2017-2021 across different regions. The report also includes a discussion of the key vendors operating in this market.
One trend in market is vehicle-to-grid charging and storage system. This is a new concept evolved from the WCS technology. In inductive charging, the power is transferred from a primary coil in the pad to a secondary coil under the vehicle through electromagnetic field formed between the air gap between these two coils.
The recent development of this technology is the reversing the induction process to power back the grids from the charged vehicle whenever needed. The vehicle will draw energy from the grid through WCS at off-peak hours, and it will be stored in the PEV battery. During peak hours, the energy from batteries will induce a field to be produced by the coil under the vehicle. The coil in charging pads will acquire the power from the vehicles. This power is used to run office buildings or other facilities during peak hours, thereby reducing power demand on national grids.
