CLIFTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Joseph Federico, President of the Lou Costello Tent NJ of the Circus Saints and Sinners Club of America, announced that the Tent will be again be sponsoring a college scholarship. The 2017 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior at a local NJ High School who will be pursuing a college degree in a field within Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
“We are pleased to be offering this scholarship. NJ High School students who are interested in applying for the scholarship should call us by May 1, 2017,” said Joseph Federico.
“Members of the Lou Costello Charity Tent are proud to promote the study of STEM fields,” continued Joseph Federico.
The Lou Costello Charity Tent Scholarship is one of the charitable activities of the Tent, which focuses on needs around the area of Paterson, NJ. The tent is named after former Paterson resident, Lou Costello. The Tent has also run bus trips to Atlantic City to support local charities including St. Anthony’s of Padua Parish in Paterson. Originally started in the 1970s as the Lou Costello Tent by Mr. Costello’s personal physician and longtime friend Dr. Fred Crecente, the organization is comprised of prominent members of the professional and business world. After a long hiatus, former Director and current President Joseph Federico revamped The Lou Costello Charity Tent NJ with the permission of the Costello family as a sub-chapter of the National Circus Saints and Sinners of America, Inc. It was established to continue the fund raising principles of the previous Tent to aid charity organizations and charitable causes by holding fundraisers of various types.
