BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, DreamBox Learning®, the U.S. company that pioneered Intelligent Adaptive Learning™, announced a partnership with Nelson, Canada’s leading educational publisher, to bring its award-winning K-8 math education software platform to more Canadian classrooms.
Through the partnership, Nelson will become the exclusive marketer and distributor of DreamBox in Canada.
“After an exhaustive search, we feel DreamBox is the perfect complement to our leading nationwide math portfolio,” explained Steve Brown, Nelson president and CEO. “This platform aligns perfectly with our commitment to improving mathematical understanding in Canada through engagement with adaptive learning technology that is easy for both students and teachers to use.”
DreamBox’s Intelligent Adaptive Learning technology and curriculum are informed by decades of research about children’s natural development and growth in mathematical reasoning. The software, which is used in all 50 states and across Canada, adapts to each student in real-time as they use it, offering the right lesson at the right time.
By providing students with engaging, age-appropriate visual representations of math, DreamBox creates an environment that motivates them to persist, progress and achieve success with just the right amount of support when they need it. A study released by the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University found that elementary math students who used DreamBox saw achievement gains.
Through the partnership with Nelson, DreamBox expects significant growth in Canada to enhance its already strong position.
“DreamBox’s approach to empowering both students and teachers to develop a deeper understanding of math is strongly aligned with the instructional approach of Canadian educators that cultivates math success,” said Jessie Woolley-Wilson, DreamBox president and CEO. “Aligning our product with Nelson, a highly respected education publisher, will greatly enhance our abilities to continue working with Canadian educators to help even more K-8 students unlock their learning potential."
