DAVIS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Three challenge awards new to the 2017 UC Davis Big Bang! Business Competition will support innovative solutions in synthesis gas (syngas), organizational transformation, and increasing resource efficiency in agriculture or food systems.
These new competition awards totaling $25,000 are sponsored by Sierra Energy ($10,000 for teams interested in syngas), EVCO Plastics (for teams interested in honing their skills in transforming an existing company), and Gowan Co. and AGR Partners ($10,000 for teams interested in increasing resource efficiency in agriculture or food systems).
The sponsors for each challenge award will participate in selecting the winning team, which are “challenged” to present an innovative solution in the specific area.
“We couldn’t be happier to receive such a strong vote of confidence from the business community about the power of UC Davis to drive innovation in agriculture, food, environment, and energy sectors,” said Cleveland Justis, executive director of the Mike and Renee Child Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which organizes and hosts the competition.
