International Association of Administrative Professionals Partners With University of Phoenix to Offer Its Members New Opportunity to Enhance Careers

Agreement Supports Administrative Professionals with Continuing Education and Degree Options

PHOENIX--()--International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and University of Phoenix announced a new partnership today that will help IAAP members pursue their educational and professional goals. The announcement comes at the beginning of April, a month dedicated to celebrating administrative professionals. Recognizing the value many of its members place on pursuing a higher education, IAAP has partnered with University of Phoenix to offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to members to assist in maintaining their IAAP certification and a tuition discount to those members who choose to pursue a degree at University of Phoenix.

“Our members are committed professionals seeking opportunities to grow, learn new skills and invest in their futures. We are excited to celebrate our 75th anniversary of supporting administrative professionals by encouraging the ambitions and aspirations of our members through this partnership,” said Melissa Mahoney, interim chief executive officer at IAAP. “These efforts align directly with IAAP’s mission to help administrative professionals connect, learn, lead and excel.”

“University of Phoenix is committed to ensuring that professionals with ambition can reach their full potential,” said Ruth Veloria, executive dean of the School of Business at University of Phoenix. “Partnerships with professional organizations are critical to the University—they provide pathways that help members enhance their careers.”

IAAP is comprised of 10,000 administrative professionals, and focuses on preparing members for all aspects of the ever-changing business environment. In addition to offering skills development, IAAP also prioritizes leadership and professional growth opportunities for its members.

There are more than 21.8 million individuals employed as administrative professionals in the United States alone.1 Continuing education, through professional development and degree programs, provides many with knowledge that can add value to their careers as well as shape their organizations. In addition, the median weekly earnings for professionals with certifications and licenses is 34 percent more than those without in the United States.2
