HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Hartford has named A. Morris “Mo” Tooker as head of its Middle Market segment. Tooker remains chief underwriting officer for the company’s property and casualty businesses. He continues to report to Doug Elliot, president of The Hartford.
“Mo is a highly-regarded risk expert who has been instrumental in enhancing The Hartford’s capabilities in product development and underwriting, including the expansion of our cyber and multinational insurance offerings,” said Elliot. “In Middle Market, Mo and his leadership team will continue to focus on profitably growing the franchise through disciplined underwriting and sales execution.”
The Hartford's Middle Market segment provides comprehensive, multiline commercial insurance coverage for midsize and larger businesses, associations and organizations. Its core offerings include property, general liability, workers’ compensation, auto, umbrella liability and marine protection, as well as specialty coverages for target industry segments, including technology, life sciences, construction, energy and multinational.
Prior to joining The Hartford in 2015, Tooker served as president of General Reinsurance Corporation and was responsible for the company’s global property and casualty reinsurance business.
Tooker holds a bachelor's degree in economics and environmental studies from Middlebury College.
