MEDIA ADVISORY: ADAO Announces Top Union Leaders as Presenters at 13th Annual Conference

Media Invited to Attend with Health Leaders, Doctors, Artists, Esteemed Volunteers, and Lawmakers Dedicated to Preventing Asbestos-Caused Diseases

WASHINGTON--()--Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), the largest nonprofit in the U.S. dedicated to preventing asbestos exposure, eliminating asbestos-related diseases, and protecting asbestos victims’ civil rights; today announced its star Union lineup for the 13th Annual Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference in Washington, DC April 7-9. According to ADAO President and CEO Linda Reinstein:

“We are honored to include among our speakers this year, three of the world’s most renowned Union leaders, who are fighting for the rights of global workers and helping to set the record straight about corporations that have knowingly and recklessly exposed our global workers and citizens at large to asbestos, a known carcinogen. The impressive list includes Peg Seminario, AFL-CIO Director of Safety and Health; Michael Borowich, Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) Assistant Secretary; and Hassan Yussuff, President of the Canadian Labour Congress. It is enormously gratifying to welcome them as they help ADAO in its efforts to ensure that worldwide governments and businesses protect people first over profits.

“We invite the media to join us at this year’s conference which includes a wide range of global leaders and dedicated volunteers. We are also welcoming several renowned artists who use their craft to create change, including award-winning investigative journalist David McCumber and comedian Quincy Jones of HBO stand-up fame. In addition, we are honored to have some of the world’s imminent experts on asbestos disease awareness and prevention. There is no cost for members of the press but we do encourage registering soon, as spaces are limited.”
