SAN ANTONIO--()--Six Flags Fiesta Texas, celebrating its 25th anniversary season is thrilled to launch a spectacular event, the all-new Mardi Gras Festival and Parade. Each operating day—March 24 through April 30—the park will be transformed into a Texas-style version of downtown New Orleans complete with beautifully adorned parade floats, Mardi Gras-themed park décor and classic Cajun cuisine.

The Mardi Gras Festival and Parade features eight authentic floats handcrafted by world-renowned float designer, Kern Studios. The intricately designed 16-foot tall floats will feature a variety of themes including the Mardi Gras King and Queen, the seasonal festival, Dia de los Muertos, and other celebrations from around the world, like Rio’s Carnival.

Mardi Gras and music go hand-in-hand and the seven-member King William Brass Band will be performing live at two locations along the parade route as guests join the fun and “let the good times roll.” Vibrant purple, gold and green beads will be in full supply on every float and tossed to the waving crowd while stilt walkers and street performers add to the revelry of bringing the spirit of The Big Easy to the streets of Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

The high-energy parade will run at 5:30 p.m. through the Rockville, Kidzopolis and Spassburg areas of the park. On Fridays, March 24, March 31 and April 7, the parade will be presented at 3:30 p.m.

Food is another big part of the Mardi Gras experience. From King Cakes and beignets to mouth-watering gumbo and jambalaya, Six Flags Fiesta Texas is serving up plenty of Cajun cuisine. Adult beverages like New Orleans Hurricanes and Southern Comfort Sweet Tea are also on the menu. Festive New Orleans-inspired merchandise including jester-style hats, shot glasses and novelty beads are available for purchase at Six Flags Mercado and Candy Storm during the festival dates.
