Williamsport Municipal Water Authority & Williamsport Sanitary Authority Select HomeServe USA to Offer Customers Optional Water and Sewer Line Repair Plans

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.--()--HomeServe USA (HomeServe), a leading provider of home emergency repair solutions, today announced the launch of a new program with the Williamsport Municipal Water Authority and Williamsport Sanitary Authority (WMWA-WSA) to offer optional water and sewer line protection plans to customers served by WMWA-WSA. The plans offered through HomeServe, available to thousands of households in the Greater Williamsport Area, will provide homeowners with coverage that protects them from the costs associated with emergency repairs to water and sewer lines connecting their homes to the WMSA-WSA system.

“We have discovered that homeowners are frequently unaware that many repairs to water and sewer lines are the responsibility of the property owner and are often not covered by basic homeowners insurance,” said WMWA-WSA Executive Director, Douglas Keith. “Through this new program with HomeServe, offering optional repair plans to WMWA-WSA customers, we hope to alleviate the challenges that are often associated with these emergency repairs.”

A Homeowner’s Line of Defense

In the Authorities’ service area, the water line, from curb stop or property line to the home, and the sewer line, from the cleanout or property line to the home, are the responsibility of the homeowner. Unaware that repairs to this portion of piping are not covered by the WMWA-WSA, homeowners can find themselves having to deal with the expense and inconvenience of navigating emergency repairs on their own. HomeServe’s coverage plans serve as a line of defense, ensuring that in the event of a repair emergency, the burden on homeowners to bear the expense and difficulty is minimized or eliminated. The repair process, handled through HomeServe, is timely, seamless and high-quality.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Williamsport Municipal Water Authority and Williamsport Sanitary Authority to offer optional emergency repair coverage plans to their customers,” said Tom Rusin, CEO of HomeServe USA. “Our Water and Sewer Line coverage, and other HomeServe protection plans are designed so that homeowners can minimize the inconvenience of contacting certified plumbers and schedule emergency repairs while protecting themselves from the associated costs. We hope these optional plans will provide homeowners in the Williamsport area with peace of mind in the event of a home repair emergency.”

Accessible, Reliable, 24/7

HomeServe plan holders have access to a Repair Hotline that is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as well as local, licensed, and insured contractors to provide high-quality home repair services in a timely manner. The Exterior Water Service Line Coverage is available for $5.99 per month, Exterior Sewer/Septic Line Coverage for $10.99 per month, and Interior Plumbing and Drainage Coverage for $12.99 per month. Convenient payment options are available directly through HomeServe.

Williamsport area homeowners will receive additional details about the optional service plans in the mail. Homeowners can also visit www.HomeServeUSA.com/WMWA-WSA or call toll-free 1-844-849-3620 for more information.
