FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Silver Airways today announced it is continuing to further expand its Florida – Bahamas network by starting new non-stop service between West Palm Beach and Bimini and one-stop service between Tampa and Bimini on April 20, 2017. This marks the first time Palm Beach residents can travel directly to Bimini island without having to drive to Fort Lauderdale or Miami. In addition, Tampa area travelers will also benefit from the quick, one-stop connecting service to Bimini that this new route provides.
Bimini is located just 50 miles off Florida’s coast and for a limited time, travelers can fly there for less than $50*. Bimini is the closest Bahamian island to the United States, boasting miles of pristine beaches. Known as Ernest Hemingway’s favorite escape, visitors from around the world enjoy its historical complexity and renowned past, including Bimini Road, which some believe is a remnant of the legendary Lost City of Atlantis. Bimini is also home to the new 750-acre Hilton at Resorts World Bimini, featuring a full-service resort with numerous dining options, spa, two pools, the largest marina in the Bahamas, and a casino.
To celebrate the new West Palm Beach - Bimini service, Silver Airways is offering one-way introductory fares under $50 (including taxes and fees)* through 11:59 pm ET on March 31, 2017, for travel between April 20, 2017 and May 22, 2017. Direct flights from Tampa to Bimini are under $75 (including taxes and fees)*. For the best deal, travelers can make it a long weekend, leaving Thursday and returning Monday.
“We are thrilled to continue expanding our already robust network between Florida and the Bahamas with new service between West Palm Beach and Bimini,” said Jason Bewley, Silver Airways CFO and Executive Vice President. “We look forward to giving travelers in West Palm Beach and Tampa convenient options to experience the new Hilton at Resorts World Bimini and why it truly is better in the Bahamas.”
