Alcantara’s New Concept Store Inspires Creativity and Innovation

MILAN--()--Alcantara, the Italian manufacturer of luxury material for the fashion, interior design and automotive industries, once again has raised the bar for breathtaking design with the recent opening of the Alcantara Concept Store in Milan.

Part museum and part design center, the store currently features products and concepts from six creative designers selected by Vogue Talents and Who’s on Next, as well as items from a new collection of Alcantara® accessories and handbags by New York artist and designer Rebecca Moses.

Display items include one-offs and limited editions side-by-side with a curated selection of concepts that peer into the future of fashion and design, including cutting-edge expressions of automotive and avant-garde interior designs.

“Style Identities” – a new, unconventional collection by Rebecca Moses – was unveiled during Milan Fashion Week in February. Now featured at the Concept Store, the collection interprets fashion through the lifestyle profiles of eight uniquely different women.

A retail store and museum, the store’s contents are continually in flux, reflecting ever-changing fashion trends. Patchwork bags by Benedetta Bruzziches; accessories created by Maria Sole Cecchi for Les Petit Joueurs; sunglasses by Italia Independent, and audio headphones by Master & Dynamic are among the many items currently available at the store.

Visitors also will find two engaging, yet contrasting points of view featuring Alcantara material – a contemporary Lamborghini seat next to a Cappellini armchair.

“Without question, the Alcantara Concept Store represents a welcome departure from today’s retail status quo,” notes Andrea Boragno, Alcantara’s chairman and CEO. “For the shopper, it serves as a one-of-a-kind personal boutique. For the designer, it becomes a source of refreshing, cross-pollinating ideas.”
