NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--D.A. Davidson & Co. has announced that Russell Gunther has joined the firm’s institutional equity research team to provide analysis of the Mid-Atlantic banking sector. Gunther is the fifth analyst offering research on banks, thrifts and specialty finance as the firm continues to strengthen its financial services coverage.

Gunther, based in the firm’s New York office, will help build on the success of the financials team – analysts Gary Tenner, Jeff Rulis, Kevin Reevey and Arren Cyganovich – who provide research on publicly owned bank, thrift and specialty finance companies. Overall, D.A. Davidson’s award-winning institutional research group has reached 30 professionals who provide and support coverage of nearly 300 publicly traded companies.
Gunther joins D.A. Davidson with more than 10 years of experience as a sell-side equity analyst covering banks and thrifts. He previously served as a senior publishing analyst with Macquarie Capital, Bank of American Merrill Lynch and Keefe Bruyette and Woods, and has covered banks in various U.S. regions. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University.
