SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In a decision expected to increase and expand clinical treatment capacity and strategically locate corporate operations, SMH President & CEO Patrick C. Evans and the Board of Directors announced today that the organization will relocate its corporate headquarters from Seattle to Tukwila. The projected move date will be July 2017. The facility, which is owned by SMH, is located at 6400 Southcenter Blvd.
SMH’s executive and administrative teams, which are currently located at the organization’s Capitol Hill facilities, will occupy the 17,000 square feet of space in Tukwila that became available when a previous tenant vacated its lease. This will include leadership from the Clinical, Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources, and Marketing and Development lines of business.
The move addresses what Evans cites as two key priorities for the organization. First and foremost is enhancing client care. A steady increase in clients over the years increased demand for more treatment rooms, and the 11,000 square feet of available space at its Capitol Hill facilities will address that need. Secondly, Evans believes that, as a county-wide organization, SMH leadership must be more centrally located.
“This decision was given careful and thoughtful consideration by our Board and leadership,” he said. “As new opportunities emerge in health care, SMH believes that a more central King County location offers strategic advantages. This move prepares us for expansion and growth outside of King County. At the same time, we are being responsive to the growing needs of our clients and clinical staff by making a significant amount of space available.”
In January, SMH announced the expansion of its executive leadership team and, together, these changes empower SMH to more actively pursue partnerships, explore new business opportunities and enhance its commitment to health care quality.
An open house and tour of the new facility will be planned for late summer 2017.
