ePIPE® Team Awarded U.S. Patent for Cleaning and Sealing Pipes “In-Place” Providing Protection Against Leaks, Lead Leaching and Lead Service Lines

LAS VEGAS--()--Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC, (PRT) makers of the ePIPE®, Lead-Free Leak-Free, LeadSmart™ product lines, announced today that it has been granted its 17th U.S. patent, #9555453, related to its ePIPE System of “in-place” pipe restoration against leaks, harmful lead leaching and lead service lines.

“ePIPE is providing superior solutions in response to real time issues like lead pipes, leaky pipes, the leaching of excessive amounts of copper & lead from plumbing systems into drinking water,” Pipe Restoration Technologies CEO Larry Gillanders said. “ePIPE applicators save money and time with ePIPE’s fast installation. Customers enjoy the benefits of minimal down time, with many properties being restored in less than a day, using our plumbing innovations.”

Pipes can be protected in-place to protect against leaks and reduce leaching toxins, such as lead and copper. Pipes from as small as 1/2'' in diameter can be protected in-place using the patented ePIPE system and materials. Drinking water pipes, natural gas lines, HVAC, drains and fire sprinkler systems can be treated.

ePIPE is approved by NSF for an immediate return to service in as little as 90 minutes. The patented ePIPE epoxy coating process provides one of the fastest return to service epoxy lining products in the world, designed for protecting drinking water pipes from leaks and lead & copper leaching.

About Pipe Restoration Technologies, LLC:

PRT is the parent company of the ePIPE product, LeadSmart™ program and worldwide group of installers that utilize the patented ePIPE process to restore pipes in-place. An alternative to a destructive repipe, this process is achieved using an application of an epoxy barrier coating, which results in a restored, epoxy lined piping system. The process provides a solution for pinhole leaks, epoxy lining, corrosion control and reduction of lead leaching from pipes without the destruction or disruption encountered by pipe replacements. PRT and its affiliated companies have locations throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Mexico and Hong Kong.
