PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Keeping in mind its mission to help households and communities stay safe, save energy, and run smoothly 24/7 using data that’s already available from our phones, Truthing, a Palo Alto based startup, is gearing up to debut its iOS beta.
Truthing helps you easily manage multiple smart home devices, your connected cars and online services in one place, even from a remote location. By integrating data from your lights, thermostats, car, current location, other users’ locations, maps, the weather, etc., all these sources inform one another and work together to offer an intelligent, open-ended, and seamless experience.
Truthing learns, from analyzing data patterns in a users’ context, how to proactively suggest ways to make connected life more convenient as a whole.
Let’s say it’s 7:30am and Truthing informs you your fuel level is low. Knowing you’re at home and it’s a half hour before you normally leave for work, and taking into consideration your car, calendar, distance to local gas stations, and current traffic conditions, it might say: You should leave now to make it to your 9am meeting. Do you want to call and reschedule instead?
While out with friends, you might get notified that no one’s been home for 15 minutes but the kitchen lights are on. Turn them off? You could quickly check the security cameras to make sure everything’s ok, message your family to learn they’re at the movies, then kill the lights — all using Truthing.
“We want Truthing to be the single, secure point of access to actionable information for consumers across all screens and touch points,” says its founder, Kiran Gopinath.
It’s a refreshing goal, in light of the device compatibility issues users face in the Internet of Things landscape including home automation, and the fragmented experience of navigating separate apps and ecosystems.
Truthing features multiple UI options to choose from. There’s a cheerful personal assistant you can either converse with or message, an innovative mixed reality interface and a standard app interface that lets you replicate your home or any other space using panoramic photos that’s fun and visually informative.
A beta version of Truthing is expected to become available this year for iOS, along with a web app. Sign up now for early access at www.truthing.com.
