Recovery Centers of America Now Offering Detox Services in Maryland

With approval from Maryland’s Health Commission, Bracebridge Hall, a Recovery Centers of America company is now treating patients in need of detox

EARLEVILLE, Md.--()--Recovery Centers of America (RCA), the fastest-growing provider of inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment programs in the United States, is now accepting patients for detoxification at its Bracebridge Hall center in Earleville, Maryland. After receiving approval from Maryland’s Health Commission, Bracebridge Hall began accepting patients for detox services on February 15.

Bracebridge Hall, a 24,000-square-foot mansion set on 557 acres, is a state-of-the-art center for addiction medicine that provides world-class residential treatment and ongoing support services through evidence-based substance use disorder therapies. It opened to the community in October 2016, specializing in individualized patient care delivered by the center’s expert clinical team with empathy and clarity. The facility’s detox program is Recovery Centers of America’s latest resource in the battle against Maryland’s opioid epidemic, following more than 1,400 drug overdose deaths statewide from January to September 2016, a nearly 40-percent increase from 2015.

“This is a monumental step in our work in Maryland as we can immediately treat patients in need,” says J.P. Christen, chief operating officer at Recovery Centers of America. “41 percent of Maryland residents have been affected by the state’s crushing opioid epidemic. We know that the detox program at Bracebridge is a vital tool in our arsenal to fight a disease that is taking countless lives throughout the state.”

As a necessary first step for many patients, detox is a critical part of the treatment process, and must be carried out under medical supervision. With approval from the state’s commission, Bracebridge Hall is permitted to help patients experience safe withdrawal while easing the pain and discomfort associated with its symptoms.

Recovery Centers of America currently operates four drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities. Current plans project RCA to operate over 1,200 beds by the end of 2018.
