OLD LYME, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The France Foundation, a leading medical education company, announced today it has received its second Accreditation with Commendation as a provider of continuing medical education by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). ACCME’s Accreditation with Commendation is the highest level of accreditation and places The France Foundation among the top 38 percent of providers of continuing medical education in the United States, which includes some of the nation’s most prestigious medical schools, national medical societies and leading hospitals.
ACCME-accredited providers certify educational activities for the American Medical Association’s Physician’s Recognition Award (“AMA PRA”). The AMA PRA is utilized by state licensing boards and boards of medical specialties to re-license physicians and re-certify them in their areas of specialty.
“This acknowledgement of The France Foundation’s performance-in-practice further empowers our core educational mission to design education that builds upon clinician knowledge and skills to improve the quality of care for their patients,” said The France Foundation President Stacy Miller.
ACCME awards an Accreditation with Commendation to providers who demonstrate compliance in all of ACCME’s criteria and for meeting all of the accreditation requirements. ACCME commended The France Foundation for meeting the requirements and demonstrating its commitment as a learning organization and a change agent for the physicians and patients served. They also noted The France Foundation’s support of physician learning and change that is part of a system for quality improvement.
ACCME accreditation seeks to assure both physicians and the public that continuing medical education activities sponsored by The France Foundation meet the high standards of the Criteria for Accreditation and the Standards for Commercial Support of the ACCME.
The France Foundation is also accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to provide education to pharmacists. For more information about The France Foundation’s award-winning continuing medical education (CME) program, please contact Marina Galanakis at (860) 598-2260.
