SCORR Marketing and Applied Clinical Trials Release Report on Technological Innovations in the Health Science Industry

KEARNEY, Neb.--()--SCORR Marketing, a global health science marketing and communications firm, in partnership with Applied Clinical Trials, has released the results of its Technological Innovations Survey Report. The report is a compilation of results from four surveys that examined the challenges related to technological innovation in the health science industry. The four surveys covered the areas of mHealth wearables, paperless clinical trials, attitudes and practices regarding innovation, and big data.

“In this report, we provide inter-survey information on acceptance and resistance to technology, innovation and change as well as on how opinions of a company vary based on perspective and context,” said Cliff Echols, market intelligence director at SCORR Marketing. “In addition, the report contains information on the optimism toward mHealth wearables and paperless processes; structures that encourage innovation or collaboration; and how innovation and big data facilitate risk-based monitoring but not patient recruitment.”

“Results from the survey indicated that cost and skepticism about data quality are the leading barriers to acceptance of innovative technologies,” said Michael Tessalone, vice president/group publisher at Applied Clinical Trials. “Cost was cited as the major concern regarding implementation of wearable data collection devices and was most frequently mentioned as the reason for the slow adoption of paperless and other innovative processes in clinical trials.”
