ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC (“SSB”), the largest manufacturer and distributor of mattresses in the United States, announced today that, in response to strong demand, the Company is making a $100+ million, multi-year investment to expand its manufacturing footprint and extend its advertising efforts.
SSB is expanding its capacity and will open four new, larger manufacturing facilities as part of its network of more than 30 plants in 2017. These new sites are strategically placed to support areas of greatest demand and will be located in Windsor Locks, Connecticut; Seattle, Washington; Houston, Texas; and Moreno Valley, California. While the physical plant structures are complete, the company is readying these facilities with state-of-the-art equipment and an experienced workforce to prepare for full production.
In addition to its Serta® and Beautyrest® national advertising campaigns, SSB also recently launched an innovative, cooperative marketing strategy known as the Advantage Marketing Program. This program offers SSB’s strong network of regional and independent retailers the opportunity to partner with the Company in an aggressive advertising effort where SSB matches their advertising investments on a dollar for dollar basis, to help drive awareness through SSB’s size and scale on a national level. The program builds on significant investments that SSB is making in product development for its two best-selling brands, offering retailers more depth and breadth across all facets of their marketing efforts.
“As the largest bedding manufacturer in the United States we are committed to meeting the needs of all of our retail partners and helping them grow their business,” said Michael Traub, SSB Chief Executive Officer. “Retailer response to our 2017 Serta and Beautyrest lines has been fantastic. We are excited to continue to invest in manufacturing in the United States, while also increasing consumer brand awareness to better support our retailers,” Traub added.
