TULSA, Okla.--()--Daryl Buck has joined Grant Thornton LLP as national managing partner of the firm’s Accounting Advisory Services practice, based in Tulsa.

Buck will apply his more than 30 years of public accounting and financial leadership experience – including more than five years serving as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) – to oversee service offerings that seek to help clients optimize their financial reporting processes and ensure their accounting practices align with business goals and evolving standards.

“Daryl brings to Grant Thornton an impressive combination of proven leadership skills, valuable business experiences and deep accounting knowledge that will make him an ideal leader for our Accounting Advisory Services practice,” said Jeff Burgess, national managing partner of Grant Thornton’s Audit Services practice. “His vast experience as a Financial Accounting Standards Board member will be invaluable to the continued growth of the firm’s accounting services capabilities.”

During his tenure at the FASB, Buck worked to establish and improve generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for the United States and also sought to coordinate them with international financial reporting standards (IFRS). Prior to being named to the FASB, Buck served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Reasor’s Holding Company Inc. Early in his career, Buck was an audit manager for Arthur Andersen LLP.
