The ICIT Winter Summit 2017 will bring cybersecurity leaders together to develop strategies that demonstrate how available tools and technologies can be implemented to reduce risk and significantly improve security. Federal executives and cybersecurity practitioners will reassess current approaches and develop actionable strategies to prevent successful breaches and build long-term sustainable defenses against a hyper-evolving adversary.
General Hayden will deliver the closing keynote at 2:40 p.m. ET. He will share his perspectives as a national security expert on the top threats facing the federal government and what priorities the new administration and agencies should have for 2017. As director of the CIA and the NSA, General Hayden was on the frontline of the war on terrorism and the growing cyber challenge, and a participant in some of the most telling events in American national security history. He understands the dangers, risks, and potential rewards of the political, economic and security situations facing the nation.
Joining General Hayden will be cybersecurity leaders from U.S. Federal Agencies including the Air Force, FBI, DHS, NASA Ames Research Center, Commerce, EPA, Social Security Administration, Health and Human Services, NIST, GAO, USDA, SBA, FCC and more.
“It is vital to the cybersecurity of our Nation’s critical infrastructure that the federal government demonstrate continuity on cyber initiatives during this period of transition,” said Parham Eftekhari, co-founder and Sr. Fellow at ICIT. “The decision to host our Winter Summit during the first week of the new administration sends a clear message to threat actors that U.S. public and private sector leaders are laser-focused on defending our most valuable assets. We are grateful to our Co-Chair & Fellow-Program member Centrify, and distinguished experts like General Hayden, for supporting ICIT on this important day.”
“We are honored to co-chair the ICIT Winter Summit 2017,” said Tom Kemp, CEO and co-founder of Centrify. “We are committed to effectively combating cybercrime and thwarting the top attack vector used in data breaches — compromised credentials. In the modern age, cyber safety is just as important as physical safety. We’re excited to hear from General Hayden and discuss new cybersecurity strategies and approaches for the new year.”
