PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Walk Off The Earth, the five-piece musical phenomenon that rocked the internet, will bring their unique and innovative music stylings to The Event Center at SugarHouse Casino on Friday, March 24 at 9 p.m. The Ontario-based quintet is the latest addition to SugarHouse’s 2017 lineup of exceptional music acts to perform in The Event Center. Tickets for the performance go on sale Dec. 23 and prices begin at $59.
Known for their unconventional covers of Top 40 pop and hip-hop songs, the band gained a mass following in 2012 when their cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” went viral, earning more than 35 million views in less than two weeks. Following this success, Walk Off The Earth has released a total of six studio albums (most recently “Sing It All Away”), embarked on three European and North American tours and received the 2016 Juno Award for Group of the Year.
“Walk Off The Earth is the ultimate combination of impressive vocal talent and lively performance,” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “We look forward to fans filling our Event Center to see an unforgettable show.”
Multi-talented, the band’s five members (Sarah Blackwood, Gianni “Luminati” Nicassio, Ryan Marshall, Joel Cassady and Mike “Beard Guy” Taylor) bring a combination of vocal and instrumental talent to their performances. Their signature ska/reggae style incorporates elements of percussion, looping tracks, ukulele and harmonica sounds, creating their own identifiable music.
Tickets for Walk Off The Earth’s show and all SugarHouse performances, including music artists Sara Evans (Jan. 14) and Jeffrey Osborne (Feb. 10), can be purchased online at SugarHouse Casino Event Center.
In addition to live performances and concerts, the SugarHouse Casino Event Center may be reserved for a variety of other occasions, including weddings, corporate receptions, seminars, trade shows and more. The space features floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views of the Delaware River waterfront and the Ben Franklin Bridge. Parking is always free.
