LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--First Lady of Los Angeles Amy Wakeland joins Los Angeles magazine Publisher Erika Anderson, Editor in Chief Mary Melton and Philanthropist Austin Beutner to announce GIVE LA via a press conference scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, at 10am PST at Los Angeles magazine's headquarters, located at 5900 Wilshire Boulevard (Los Angeles, 90036).
During this season of giving, Los Angeles magazine has designed a very thoughtful initiative to improve the lives of others by calling Angelenos to GIVE. GIVE Los Angeles (GIVE LA) is a unique effort, encouraging us to think, act and give back by embracing, promoting and supporting our local non-profits which help make life in Los Angeles the best it can be.
GIVE Los Angeles connects non-profits doing remarkable work in the community with people who are interested in sharing time, talent and resources with organizations serving causes they are passionate about. The philanthropic effort combines a custom printed publication (included with our December issue) from the Publishers of Los Angeles magazine with a digital giving challenge, powered by Crowdrise. The issue includes editorial coverage on important issues impacting our city and provides a listing of participating non-profits whose work serves Los Angeles County.
The GIVE Los Angeles online fundraising challenge is open to all non-profits featured in the GIVE magazine and will run through January 3, 2017. A $30,000 cash prize, funded by Los Angeles magazine, will be awarded and split among the top three charities that raise the most funds for the duration of the challenge.
Notable participating non-profits include: United Way, Present Now, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, LA Ronald McDonald House, Natural History Museum, The Music Center, Rand Corporation, and LA Kings Cares Foundation.
We can unite our city and country by GIVING. For more information, please email or call Karen Lewis at 310.760.1263.
