TAINAN, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A sixteen-member Indonesian delegation of mayors, government representatives, and political sciences scholars will arrive in Taiwan Wednesday on a four-day workshop to explore the possibility of regional developments to improve local competitiveness within ASEAN economic community.
The workshop organized by a Tainan-based National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) interdisciplinary working group, is the first design thinking training for regional development initiated in Taiwan.
The workshop titled UGM-NCKU Training Program for Regional Leaders will be held at C-Hub, NCKU, starting from November 23 to 26.
During the four-day workshop, the delegation will learn about strategies on upgrading small and medium enterprises, urban development and local competitiveness, and policies for promoting creative industry.
In addition, the workshop will serve as a policy-making platform for regional development based upon both design thinking and business insight.
Working with the professors and design thinking facilitators in NCKU, the delegation from three major cities in Indonesia including Palangka Raya, Singkawang, and Yogyakarta will be invited to explore the possibilities in developing city branding for their cities.
NCKU has been working with the Tainan City Government and local industries to boost regional innovation and develop creative industries in the region. Many applied strategies and feasible cases will be highlighted in the workshop and the delegation will also visit Tainan City government and meet up with people from local government and industry sectors.
