Andrew Reid, Vision Critical Founder, Launches Independent Startup

Launched in collaboration with Vision Critical, VC LABS to build an ecosystem of complementary applications to extend the value of insight communities

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--()--Vision Critical, a leading customer intelligence platform provider, today announced that Andrew Reid, the company’s founder and president of corporate innovation, has launched a new startup called VC LABS. VC LABS is a new company focused on developing software applications that will harness and extend the value of insight communities across their organizations.

“Vision Critical is one of Canada’s great tech success stories, and Andrew has been at the epicenter of building what is now a truly global business serving some of the world’s most recognizable brands,” said Scott Miller, CEO, Vision Critical. “The recent launch of our upgraded platform and its open architecture makes this a perfect time for Andrew to focus his entrepreneurial drive and creativity toward this new venture, which will also be a new technology ally for our organization, building new solutions that help customers extend the value in their insight communities.”

Andrew Reid launched Vision Critical in 2000, aiming to disrupt the traditional market research landscape by using new digital technologies to improve the research process. Capitalizing on the power of social, mobile and web technologies, Vision Critical transformed the industry by developing a software platform that allows brands to build secure, online communities of thousands of customers they can turn to on an ongoing basis for insight to inform better business decisions. Vision Critical has become one of Canada’s most successful and fastest growing tech companies, serving some of the largest, most admired brands in the world.

“My passion is in building companies from the ground up. After launching Vision Critical 16 years ago and seeing its accelerating success and growth, I’m ready to start a new venture,” said Andrew Reid. “As the shift to customer-centricity continues to gain momentum and provide new opportunities, VC LABS will develop new solutions, complementary to Vision Critical, that help innovative brands make the most of their communities.”

Andrew Reid will be leaving the executive team at Vision Critical, but will continue to be a significant shareholder and active board participant.
